Meditation is maybe not what you think it is

Meditation is maybe not what you think it is

If we have a wrong understanding of something, we certainly push it away, reject it, run away and also create a feeling of pride inside: I know better, I do something else. This feeling is often connected to some insecurities and maybe you know exactly what I am talking about.

But imagine, instead of having immediately an opinion about something you do not know exactly what it is, you are curious and learn more about it.

Here are 3 myths about meditation, that I think really need to be dismantled so that more people can use this tool for better health, stress reduction, creating a deeper understanding of oneself and others, increasing their creativity, shifting beliefs and mindsets and so on. The list of positive results through meditation is long. So if you heard about the following myths, let them go now and forever:

????Myth: Meditation is about clearing the mind completely. I need to stop thinking while I meditate.

????Reality: While some forms of meditation may involve aiming for a clear mind (as the result of the meditation), such as in concentration meditation, many types of meditation focus on observing thoughts without judgment or getting caught up in them. It’s not about emptying the mind but rather about cultivating awareness and acceptance of whatever arises.

????Myth: Meditation is only for spiritual or religious people.

????Reality: While meditation has roots in various spiritual and religious traditions, it is a practice that can be beneficial for people of all backgrounds and beliefs. Meditation can be secular and is often used for stress reduction, improving focus, and enhancing overall well-being. If you are a leader and you do not know how to reduce stress, how to stay focused, how to increase efficiency, than this is for you.

????Myth: You have to sit perfectly still for meditation to be effective.

????Reality: While sitting still is a common posture for meditation, it’s not the only option. Many people find success with walking meditation, where they focus on each step and their breath as they walk. Additionally, meditation can be practiced lying down, standing, or even moving slowly. The key is to find a posture that allows YOU to be comfortable and alert.

By dispelling these myths, you can approach meditation with a more open and inclusive mindset, recognizing its potential for anyone willing to give it a try.

What is health and wellness

What is health and wellness

Health and wellness are often used synonymously, but each has a unique definition that has evolved throughout history.
In ancient times, health, or the absence of disease, was closely tied to religion, with the belief that gods, demons, and supernatural powers must be appeased in order to achieve it. Hippocrates, considered the father of modern medicine, is known for breaking from this belief system, instead promoting the idea that health requires balance within the body. His overarching concept of health is the foundation of functional medicine, which requires looking at health from a holistic perspective.

Change is possible

Change is possible

For some people it is very difficult to live their best life! I’ve been one of them! For almost 40 years of my life I lived mainly with anger, guilt and shame. I hated my parents, I hated myself for being born into that family and into that village. I could not find joy in living or being with people.
Until one day that I decided to: either I change or I die!
