Yoga found me when I was in a very difficult phase of my life. Today I can say that it saved my life…

Yoga is not about flexibility, it’s about how to go through life with ease and grace.

Stressful life events such as break-up, loss of a job or loss of a loved one can really pull you down and you can find yourself alone for the first time in years. You have no idea where to start this ‘new you’. On top of it, real life has to go on. You have to play your role in the job, for me it was being a Managing Director, for others it might be being the mother who cannot break down in front of the kids or colleagues. So, we have to deal with challenges, and yoga is one amazing way to help you do it.

It grounds you and connects you with your self.

It allows you to feel and understand your emotions and it helps you to “live” with what is. It is an amazing tool to jump out of the show that is running around you and allow you to be just you for an hour. In that time you can let go of everything.

Later, I found my way to Yin Yoga, and realised that it is a wonderful healing tool. The breath in Yin Yoga brings you directly into the connective tissue where the stress is stored, where we have scars from accidents, trauma, and emotional wounds.

Holding a yin pose for three, four, five or even more minutes it puts accent on the connective tissue, the hips, pelvis, lower spine, inner thighs and organs. The result is a deep relaxation and emotional balance. 

Yin Yoga is for you if you are tired, over-stimulated, when your energy is too erratic, your mind overactive, whether you are craving energy or you feel you have too much of it.

How does life transformation look like for you?

I grew up in a family with a lot of disfunctional behaviour. On top of it, big trauma from WWII was part of it. Both my parents were born in the war and runs into a bomb shelter is something they remember and still talk about it with tears in their eye. So yeah, not much healing was done in that generation. They also lost their parents or grandparents early in their childhood. Stress later in their life through work in order to nourish a family was their adulthood.
